We’ll begin accepting applications February 15th, 2021!  Please read below for directions and information.

EARC prides itself on providing a welcoming atmosphere for our members,  their guests, and our guards.  If you are interested in joining the 2021 EARC staff team or have other questions, please email us at [email protected] so we might know to expect your application, telling us a bit about yourself and why you feel you should be considered (cover letter type material).

We balance our compensation rates based upon a combination of “the going rate in the area” as well as the knowledge that our private, limited membership/capacity makes for a more ‘tranquil’ work experience versus other pools where a busload of camp kids (half of which can’t swim) literally could be dropped off at any moment.  Please take this into account when determining where you might wish to guard for the summer!

For the 2021 season, the pay rate for guards will start at $11.25 and range up to $14.65 per hour depending upon level of experience and responsibility (wages for more experienced guards will fall between this range and will be determined upon employment).  

If you wish to be considered for a head guard/co-manager position ($14.65/hr) please add a statement to your application speaking to your leadership skills and ability to think on your feet and act independently in a variety of circumstances both with the pool, it’s equipment, and the public.

One last note: The minimum age for lifeguard employment in NC is 15 years old – please be of this age on or before May 29th 2021.  Parents please do not contact on behalf of your child.  We take into account your child’s ability to advocate for themselves and complete the application process in our determination for potential employment.
